Bass Cats Headed to ACA Nationals

FLORENCE, Ala. - The Bethel University Bass Fishing team heads back to Florence, Alabama this week to compete in the ACA National Championship tournament.  The Bass Cats have won this event three times, 2012 with Matt Roberts and Zach Parker, 2018 with Cole Floyd and Carter McNeal and again with Floyd and McNeal in 2019.

 Bethel is the only college or university to win the event three times in the history of the tournament and also the only school to win back-to-back championship titles. 

"Heading back to Florence is very exciting for us," said Bethel Fishing Coach Garry Mason.  "We have a long-standing string of great wins on Pickwick Lake, and we would love to bring the championship trophy back home to Bethel once again this year," added Mason.   

Side note: Bethel University Bass Fishing Alumni Cole Floyd just won a Major League Fishing Tournament that netted the former Bethel standout a check for $125,000.   Not a bad couple of days work while fishing
