Cats Fall in Road Play at Georgetown
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Bethel Wildcats and the No. 18 Georgetown Tigers squared off Saturday in Georgetown, Kentucky.
Unfortunately, the Wildcats dropped their fourth straight game, losing 100-62.
The Cats dropped to 16-7 overall and 2-5 in the MSC. The Cats are 4-3 in road action this year. GC beat the Wildcats 70-66 back on January 10 in Crisp Arena.
Georgetown improved to 16-6 and 3-3 in the league.
The Cats struggled in the first half, committing 12 turnovers. The Tigers knocked down six three pointers and led 48-31 at the break. GC shot 47 percent from the floor. D J Starr led Bethel with 15 first half points. Zion Harmon led the Tigers with 15 points at the break. Isiah Mason had eight points for GC.
The Tigers maintained their momentum in the second half and won handily. The Tigers shot 52 percent while the Cats shot 36 percent from the floor. GC hit 11 three-pointers while Bethel was 3-of-15 from outside. The Cats committed 27 turnovers and had a 26-13 advantage in points off turnovers. GC had a 48-30 margin in points in the paint.
D J Starr led the Cats with 22 points. Brayden Nunnally followed with 13 points.
Harmon was one of the four players in double figures with a game high of 32 points.
The Wildcats return to action Thursday hosting Cumberland University at 7:30 p.m.
