2025-2026 Season Preview: Bethel University Men’s Golf Team
MCKENZIE, Tenn. - As the 2025-2026 season approaches, anticipation is high for the Bethel University Men's Golf Team. Coming off a strong campaign that saw the Wildcats claim an impressive third-place finish at the Mid-South Conference Championships, the team is poised to take the next step with a deep, well-balanced roster and strong senior leadership.
At the forefront of this year's squad are seasoned seniors Logan Rorie, Grady Lancaster, and Luke Mettemeyer—a trio that brings a powerful combination of competitive experience, poise under pressure, and consistent performance. Their leadership will be invaluable as the Wildcats aim to build on last season's momentum and make a serious run at conference and national postseason success.
They're joined by key returners Alex Fansler, Eli Harvey, and Henry Baskin, who each played significant roles in last year's success and are expected to elevate their games even further this season. With such a strong returning core, the team boasts both depth and familiarity, two crucial ingredients for success at the collegiate level.
Entering his sixth season at the helm, Head Coach John Austin is confident in his team's potential.
"We've got a great group of guys who are hungry to compete," said Coach Austin. "We're returning some very experienced players and bringing in a highly talented freshman class. This group has the potential to do something special."
Indeed, the incoming freshmen class is generating plenty of buzz. Newcomers Cohen Bitzer, Carson Daniel, Jules Hardy, Matthew Leonard, and Landon Wallace bring impressive resumes and fresh energy to an already dynamic team. Their arrival adds competition, depth, and an exciting future for the program.
The Wildcats will tee off their fall season in late September, with a full slate of events lined up for both the fall and spring. With a balanced roster, strong leadership, and a renewed sense of purpose, the 2025-2026 season promises to be one to watch for Bethel Men's Golf.
