Wildcats Take Runner-Up at Midwest Conference Championship in Marengo, Ohio

MARENGO, OH- Bethel's Shotgun Team made an impressive showing earlier this month at the Midwest Conference Championship, hosted at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, Ohio. Competing against several top collegiate teams from across the region, the Wildcats proved their hard work and consistency, securing multiple podium finishes and claiming the Team HOA Runner-Up title with a total score of 2,109 out of 2,250 targets.

Team Highlights

The Wildcats maintained a strong performance across all disciplines, showcasing the team's versatility and precision. Their results included:

● Sporting Clays – 1st Place Team

● Trap – 1st Place Team

● Doubles Trap – 2nd Place Team

● American Skeet – 2nd Place Team

● Doubles Skeet – 2nd Place Team

 

Individual Achievements

The Wildcats also celebrated several standout individual performances:

● High Overall Male Champion – Dalton Berry, who shot an incredible 430 out of 450

● High Overall Male Runner-Up – Cody Hinton, also posting a 430 out of 450, narrowly missing the top spot by a shoot off against his teammate Dalton Berry

● Women's Doubles Skeet – 2nd Place claimed by senior Marlana Attkisson

● Women's Combined Average Award (CAA) - 2nd Place also taken home by Marlana Attkisson

 

Coach's Perspective

Bethel's coaching staff praised the team for their discipline and unity under competition pressure. "The team stayed consistent across all events, and their results show the hard work they've put in this season so far. We are proud of each and every one of them. As we head to another competition, we hope to see them bring home some more hardware."

With the Midwest Championship marking one of the major fall competitions, the Wildcats now turn their sights toward the upcoming weekends.
