Track & Field Does Well in Simmons Invitational
MURRAY, Ky. - The Bethel University Track and Field squads had an outstanding showing last weekend at Murray State in the Simmons Invitational.
There were several personal records, several season best marks and a new Bethel school record set.
Cedrion Cook shattered the 10,000-meter record by over a minute with a time of 32:46.97, ranking him 5th in nationals and 2nd at the event.
Will Adkins continues to get closer to national standard in the 800 meters with a time of 1:56.39, placing 3rd overall at the invitational.
Frederick Moore set a personal record at 11.00 in 100 meters and a 22.79 in the 200-meter placing 6th and 11th at the meet.
Hayden Padgett ran a season best in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 16:45.05 placing 14th .
Freshman Khristina Paker continues to improve with every meet with a season best of 9.85 meters in the triple jump, placing 10th.
Hailey Wallace ran a season best 5:44.13 in the 1500 meter.
Hudson Wallace ran a personal best in both the 1500 meter and the 800-meter race with times of 4:18.95 and 2:12.42.
Braden Wallace ran a personal best of 4:19.09 in the 1500 meter.
Justice Bishop ran a season best in both the 100 meter and 200 meters with times of 11.40 and 23.78.
. San'Darius Coleman ran a season best in both the 200 meter and 400-meter race with times of 23.38 and 49.97.
Carson Warman ran a season best in the steeple chase with a time of 10:58.32.
Loukas Charalampous ran a personal best of 53.05 in the 400-meter race.
Chandler Roberson set a personal record and finished first in his heat in the 1500-meter race with a time of 4:21.98.
Jacob McKinney set personal best marks in the 1500 meter and the 800-meter race with times of 4:41.25 and 2:17. 94.
Cody Farmer ran a season best in the 400-meter race with a time of 58.47.
Owen Crocker set a personal record of 2:03.33 in the 800-meter race.
Kyler Corder ran the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.52 ranking him 4th in the mid-south conference.
Hendrix Calhoun threw the discus, Hammer and Javelin with marks of 40.42-meter 34.30 meters and 39.86 meters placing him 7th, 10th, and 6th at the Simmons invitational.
Coach Wes Bradshaw said "I am proud of our showing. It's not every meet we can break a school record. Our growth is a testament to the hard work the track team is putting in and I look forward to what we will achieve next."
