Softball Drops Twin Bill at Thomas More
CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Bethel Wildcats dropped a doubleheader to the Thomas More Saints in Crestview Hills Sunday afternoon.
The Saints pushed across a run in the bottom of the sixth to win game one 6-5. Thomas More came from behind in game two, scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth to win 10-9.
Thomas More outhit Bethel 10-7 in the first game. The teams combined for eleven errors in the game. The Saints had a season high seven errors. Melanie Alexander, Emma Johnson and Jade Brallier drove in single runs for the Wildcats. Gillian Grahn homered in the game for her RBI. Lauren Reimsynder suffered the Bethel loss while Annika Gels picked up the Thomas More win.
Bethel outhit the Saints 14-12 but stranded nine runners in game two. Alexis Wheeler homered and drove in three runs.
For the second time in the series, Alexander had four hits in a game. She knocked in two runs. Alexa Thrasher and Madison White drove in single runs. Grahn had two RBI's. Kalani Kuroda was charged with the Wildcat loss. Hannah Bishop picked up the Saint win. Gels was credited with the save.
Bethel dropped to 15-11 and 9-5 in the league. By taking three of the four game set, the Saints improved to 8-13 and 6-10.
The Lady Wildcats return to action Saturday at Brescia. The teams meet in a non- conference doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
