Lady Cats Lose Series Finale in Henderson
HENDERSON, Tenn. — The Bethel Lady Wildcats lost the series finale Saturday at Freed-Hardeman, falling 4-1 to the Lady Lions.
The Lady Lions scored two runs in the second inning, one run in the third and one tally in the fifth.
The Lady Cats mounted a rally in the top of the seventh but with the tying run at the plate Freed's Reagan Locke was able to get the last out and picked up the win. Amelia Sherrill drove in Briley Auvenshine for Bethel's only run. Sherrill had three hits in the game.
Both teams rapped out six hits each. The Lady Cats stranded 10 runners in the loss.
Maleyia Prather was the hard luck loser for the Cats.
It was Bethel's sixth straight loss. The Lady Wildcats dropped to 8-14 and 1-5 in the MSC. Freed-Hardeman (RV) moved to 11-10 and 5-1.
Bethel returns to action next weekend hosting Cumberland University. The old foes will play a single game on Friday at 5 p.m. and a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
