No. 11 Lindsey Wilson Sweeps Lady Cats

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats traveled to No. 11 Lindsey Wilson this weekend to face the Blue Raiders in a three game MSC series.

The series got underway on Friday with Lindsey Wilson taking both games of a doubleheader.

The Blue Raiders took game one, 6-0. Behind a sterling pitching performance by Kinsley Caruthers, the Cats led much of game two before falling 4-3 in eight innings.

The Blue Raiders took a 1-0 lead in the first game with a run in the first. Lindsey Wilson broke the game open with a three run fifth. A two run sixth gave the Raiders a 6-0 margin.

Lindsey outhit the Wildcats 9-2. Chanley Price suffered the loss while Hallie Roberts picked up the complete game win for Lindsey Wilson.

The Lady Wildcats struck first in game two. KayLeigh Dunn doubled and scored later on a UC error.

Amelia Sherrill had a two run RBI double in the sixth to give Bethel a 3-0 lead.

The Blue Raiders scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut Bethel's lead to 3-2. Kaiden Rodgers hit a dramatic homer in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at three each.

The Blue Raiders won the game in the eighth on infield error by the Cats.

Lindsey Wilson outhit Bethel 10-9.

Bethel is 9-20 overall and 2-9 in the league.

Lindsey is 29-3 and 7-1.

The squads play a single game on Saturday beginning at noon.
