Lady Cats Play in Elimination Game in MSC Softball Tournament
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Mid-South Conference officials released the 2026 MSC Softball Tournament bracket on Saturday following the conclusion of the regular season.
The tournament begins on Wednesday, April 29, with the championship game slated for Saturday, May 2. The tournament will be played at Sparks Park in Columbia, Ky.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is the top seed in the conference tournament and serves as host of the tournament after winning the regular-season title. The Blue Raiders (38-6) won the MSC regular season with a 14-4 conference record. With the No. 1 seed, Lindsey Wilson earns one of the two byes into the winner's bracket semifinals.
The tournament begins at 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday, April 29, with sixth-seeded Cumberland (Tenn.) (17-23, 6-12 in the MSC) and seventh-seeded Bethel (Tenn.) (12-32, 3-15) in an elimination game to earn their way into the double-elimination tournament.
The teams played a three-game series in late March in McKenzie. Cumberland won two of the three games.
Regular season play produced a pair of ties in the conference standings.
Campbellsville (Ky.) and Cumberlands tied for second, while Cumberland and Georgetown (Ky.) tied for fifth. Both ties were broken by the conference's first tiebreaker of head-to-head competition.
Cumberlands earned the No. 2 seed after winning the season series over Campbellsville 3-0, and Georgetown earned the No. 5 seed after winning the season series over Bethel 3-0.
Four games are scheduled for Thursday, all in the winner's bracket.
No. 4-seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) (20-19, 10-8) plays No. 5-seed Georgetown (17-20, 6-12) at 11 a.m. CT with the winner advancing to meet Lindsey Wilson at 4 p.m. CT. At 1:30 p.m. CT, No. 3-seed Campbellsville (Ky.) (28-15, 12-6) meets the winner of the Cumberland-Bethel game, with that winner meeting No. 2 seed Cumberlands (34-16, 12-6) at 6:30 p.m. CT in the final game of the day.
The tournament continues through the weekend with the championship game scheduled for 3:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 2. If the team that emerges from the consolation bracket wins Saturday's championship game, the two teams meet in the if-necessary championship game at noon CT on Sunday, May 3.
The MSC tournament champion receives the conference's automatic bid into the NAIA National Tournament.
