Bio
Shanta' Emerson returns to her alma mater for her first season as an assistant coach with the Bethel Lady Wildcat softball program. Though this marks her collegiate coaching debut, Coach Shanta’ brings leadership, passion, and a deep-rooted commitment to the game that makes her an invaluable addition to the coaching staff.
A proud Bethel alumna, Emerson began her coaching journey with the Humboldt High School Lady Vikings in Humboldt, Tennessee. Since then, she has remained dedicated to youth development and athletics, continuing to mentor and inspire student-athletes at West Carroll Jr. /Sr. High School—her hometown school.
Known for her ability to connect with players and motivate through positivity, Coach Emerson emphasizes the importance of communication, teamwork, and player development. “I am particularly passionate about fostering a positive team environment and helping players develop both their skills and their love for the game,” she says. “I believe in encouraging athletes to push their limits while also supporting each other.”
Coach Shanta’ also serves as the Associate Sports Information Director.
Shanta’ earned her bachelor’s degree from Bethel University in 2014 and completed her master’s degree in 2017. Her return to Bethel reflects her ongoing dedication to the game, the community, and the next generation of Wildcat athletes.
