Lady Cats End Three-Game Road Trip with Sweep
Elizabethtown, Tenn. — The Bethel Lady Wildcats capped off a perfect three-game road swing Monday night with a 77-67 victory over Milligan University inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. The win keeps Bethel undefeated at 7-0 on the season.
Behind another dominant scoring effort from Micah Hart, who poured in 25 points on 8-of-18 shooting and went a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line, the Lady Cats built an early lead and never looked back. Fellow guard Mikee Buchanan added 21 points and drained four three-pointers, while MJ Simmons contributed 11 points and seven rebounds in a balanced Bethel attack.
Bethel came out firing, hitting nearly 59 percent from the field in the first quarter and building a 24-16 lead. The Lady Cats continued their offensive rhythm in the second frame, outscoring the Buffaloes 23-14 to take a 47-30 advantage into the locker room.
Milligan (1-3) found its rhythm late, cutting into the deficit behind Lina Lyon's 18 points and Jenna Hare's 14, but Bethel's composure and free-throw shooting sealed the win. The Lady Cats converted 90.9% (10-for-11) from the line while holding Milligan to just 42.9% at the stripe.
Freshman Adalyn Koelling provided a spark off the bench with 11 points in 16 minutes, while Kylee Alexander added seven points and steady defense. Bethel's bench outscored Milligan's reserves 18-9, proving crucial in maintaining momentum.
Defensively, Bethel forced 21 turnovers and converted those into 18 points, holding the Buffaloes' offense in check for most of the night. Despite a sluggish third quarter where the Lady Cats shot just 21 percent, they closed strong—hitting 50 percent in the final frame to secure the sweep of their three-game road stretch.
