Lady Cats Cruise by Bulldogs

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -The Bethel Lady Wildcats jumped back into action Tuesday night traveling to the state capital to play the Fisk Lady Bulldogs.

The No. 2 Lady Cats moved to 12-0 with a 70-45 win over the Bulldogs. Bethel had beaten Fisk 79-42 back in November in McKenzie.

Fisk dropped to 4-4.

A 14-4 margin by Bethel in the first   quarter set the tone for the game. The Cats led 39-14 at the half and led by as many as 33 at one point in the second half.

The Lady Cats shot just 40 percent from the floor but held Fisk to just 29 percent from the field. Bethel hit 14 three-pointers giving them a total of 30 in the two games versus the Lady Dogs. Fisk was 4-of- 26 from behind the arc.

The teams combined for 41 turnovers in the game with Fisk having 23 on the night.

Mikee Buchanan led Bethel with 14 points. She also collected five rebounds. Adalyn Koelling followed with 10 points and seven boards. MJ Simmons had a team high eight rebounds.

Kayla Lee and Kennedi Wagner led Fisk with 15 points each.

The Lady Cats are back in action on December 16 traveling to Faulkner University in Montgomery. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. The Cats beat Faulkner 81-54 in McKenzie on November 25.

Bethel will play only one more game in the month of December as they host Grand View (Iowa) on December 18th at 1 p.m.
