Lady Wildcats Host Cumberland University Thursday

MCKENZIE. Tenn. -The No. 3 Bethel Lady Wildcats jump back into action Thursday night hosting an old foe in (RV) Cumberland University. It will be the 23rd meeting between the two with Bethel holding a 13-9 advantage in the series. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
The Wildcats are 9-1 at home this year and 182-42 all-time since Crisp Arena opened in 2012. Bethel has an 8-5 advantage in games played in McKenzie. It will be the first of two games between the two as the squads will meet again on February 21st in Lebanon.
Bethel is 20-3 overall and 5-2 in the Mid-South Conference.
The Lady Cats average 76.8 and yield 61.0 points per game.
Micah Hart leads Bethel in scoring at 19.7 per game. She averages 25.0 per game in conference action which leads the league. Mikee Buchanan is second in scoring averaging 15.4 points per outing. Madison Hart is at 13.2 clip per game.
Coach Chris Nelson is in his 19th season at Bethel and has a 423-212 career mark.
Cumberland is 14-8 overall and 0-6 in the MSC. CU is 4-5 on the road this year. The Phoenix have lost six straight with four of those losses being by single digits. CU gave No. 2 Freed-Hardeman a tussle before falling 65-57 in Lebanon Monday night.
Ty Buckley leads her team averaging 16.1 points per game. She is one of four players who average in double digits. The Phoenix average 74.0 and yields 62.1 points per game.
Mark Vaughn is in his second season as head coach at CU and is 22-28 with the Phoenix. Vaughn was a player for Coach Jeff Britt at Bethel and later an assistant under Coach Nelson at Bethel for five years before being named the head coach at Cumberland.
