Lady Wildcats Face Georgetown in MSC Semi-finals on Sunday
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -The Bethel Lady Wildcats captured their first ever MSC Tournament title last year and they will attempt to defend that championship beginning at noon on Sunday in Bowling Green.
The No. 3 Cats will meet (RV) Georgetown. The Tigers outscored Campbellsville 25-9 in the fourth quarter to stun the Tigers 74-71 in the quarterfinals on Friday.
Georgetown (Ky.) is the No. 5 seed. The Lady Tigers are (22-7, 6-6) on the season.
Bethel (23-4, 9-3 in the MSC) earned the bye into the semifinals.
Bethel lost at Georgetown but beat the Tigers in McKenzie.
The Lady Cats average 74.2 and yield 59.7 points per game.
Micah Hart leads the Cats and the league in scoring at 18.8 points per game. She averages over 20 points a game versus league opponents. Micah leads the Cats in assists (58), steals (56), and made free throws (77-85). Hart was named MSC Player of the Year on Thursday.
Mikee Buchanan leads the Cats in made three-pointers (70) and averages 15.5 points per game.
Madison Hart averages 13.8 points per outing.
The Hart sisters along with Buchanan were named to the MSC First Team All-Conference team on Thursday.
Georgetown's Daisy Gale was a first team All-Conference selection. Daysha Reid was named MSC Freshman of the Year and a second team all-conference selection. Kayra Freeman was named to the second team. Gale leads the Tigers in scoring at 18.6 points per outing.
The Tigers average 83.2 and yield 63.2 points per game.
The championship game is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT on Monday, March 2.
All games are scheduled to be played at Bowling Green Arena on the campus of Bowling Green High School.
The tournament champion receives the conference's automatic bid into the NAIA National Tournament later in March.
