KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Durbin Chacon battled rainy conditions to lead Bethel (Tenn.) to a team title at the Missouri Baptist Invitational last week, shooting 76-75--151 to claim the individual championship at Spencer T. She worked around a double bogey and three bogeys to shoot 76. Chacon opened the event on the 12th hole in the first round, and after starting four over through the first six, played her final 12 holes of the day in even par, with a birdie and a bogey.
She shot 75 in the second round, opening on the 12th hole, again, this time with a double, immediately followed by a birdie at the 13th. She carded another birdie at the 17th hole and made seven pars to close her round, securing a two-shot win over Cziezerski, and a 50-stroke win for the team over second-place William Woods (Mo.).
The Wildcats play their final round of the fall at the end of October, in the Mid-South Fall Preview Oct. 27-28, at Bowling Green Country Club, in Bowling Green, Ky.
