2025 Bethel Women's Soccer Preview
As the 2025 season kicks off, the Bethel University women's soccer team is entering a new chapter. The departure of nine senior starters, including standout goalkeeper Alicia Perez, midfield general Ainhoa Chiverella, and defensive anchor Elle Carson, leaves behind big shoes to fill—but also opens the door for fresh talent to rise.
Younger players and returning veterans with confidence, look forward to embracing the challenge, and making the most of their opportunities.
Leading the charge this year are senior captains Audrey LaRue and Paula Pinilla. LaRue returns to spearhead a dynamic forward line, bringing pace, experience, and a nose for goal. Pinilla, previously a defensive stalwart, makes the transition to midfield, where her vision and leadership are expected to make a major impact. Together, they form a potent combination that will be central to the team's attack.
The squad features many new faces, but the returning players have already started building a strong foundation. The captains have taken the lead both on and off the field, setting the tone for a competitive, united team culture.
While there may be growing pains early in the season, the talent and drive of this group are undeniable. With strong leadership and a hungry, developing core, this team is ready to forge its own identity and push for a successful 2025 campaign.
"Losing that many experienced players is never easy, but I'm incredibly proud of how our younger group has stepped up. They've been working hard, and now it's their time. This team is hungry, coachable, and ready to compete. I believe in what we're building this year," said Coach Misty Aird.
The schedule is tough as always but making it even more challenging is that the Lady Cats only play four home games this season.
