Women’s Soccer Falls to Cumberlands (KY) on Senior Night

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Lady Wildcats closed out their regular season hosting the No. 9 the University of the Cumberlands Saturday night.

Seniors Tacia Austin, Valerie Flores, Alba Lopez-Guerrero, Anna-McCall Johnson, Audrey LaRue, Viviana Villalobos Mora, Hilda Moyo, Kelly Nunes, Paula Pinilla, Anahí Tagle, and Anna Veldhuizen were honored in ceremonies following the game.

The Cumberlands beat the Cats 4-0.

The Patriots scored a first period goal to lead 1-nil at the break. Nicole Araujo scored with six minutes left in the period.

The Patriots took a 2-nil margin after a score by Alba Ramirez at the 54:04 mark in the second period.

Carola Fontan added a goal to give UC a 3-0 margin.

Kayah Robbins scored UC's final goal to give the Pats the 4-nil cushion.

The Pats had a 12-6 advantage in shots and a 10-6 margin in shots on goal.

The Cats dropped to 3-10-1 overall and 2-4 in the MSC.

Cumberlands improved to 11-3-3 and 4-2.

Mid-South Conference Women's Soccer Tournament Bracket

Cumberland (Tenn.) is the No. 1 seed while Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is the No. 2 seed in the 2025 Mid-South Conference Women's Soccer Tournament, conference officials announced on Saturday.

Cumberland and Lindsey Wilson tied for the regular season championship, with the top-seed nod going to the Phoenix with the second conference tiebreaker. The Phoenix finished the regular season with a +17 goal differential in conference games -- with a four-goal maximum differential -- compared to Lindsey Wilson's +13.

Cumberland earns a bye and will host its conference semifinals matchup.

Lindsey Wilson hosts No. 7-seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.). Third-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) plays host to sixth-seeded Georgetown (Ky.), while fourth-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) hosts No. 5-seed Bethel (Tenn.).

Quarterfinal action is slated for October 29-31. Days and times will be announced on Monday. Semifinals are scheduled for November 5-7 with the championship game slated for November 11. All games will be played at the higher seed.

The winner of the tournament earns the conference's automatic bid into the NAIA National Championships in November.
