Coach Misty Aird Honored at McKenzie Chamber of Commerce Banquet
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Longtime Bethel University Women's Soccer Head Coach Misty Aird was recognized Tuesday evening at the McKenzie Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet, receiving the prestigious Chamber Champion Award.
The Chamber Champion Award honors an enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer who demonstrates a strong commitment to the Chamber's mission and the betterment of the local community.
Aird's service extends well beyond the soccer field. She currently serves on the McKenzie School Board and is an active member of the McKenzie Rotary Club. She, her husband Matt, and their family are also active members of Overflow Church in McKenzie.
"I was so humbled and honored to receive this award," said Aird. "I have a passion to serve and give back to the community."
Aird also highlighted a recent community outreach effort spearheaded by the Rotary Club.
"We had a real blessing recently when Rotary partnered with other local organizations to provide meals for more than 500 families in the McKenzie area," she said.
This fall, Aird will begin her 27th season leading the Bethel women's soccer program. During her remarkable coaching career, she has won more games than any other woman in NAIA history. While building one of the nation's premier programs she had a lasting impact on countless student athletes.
Bethel University proudly congratulates Coach Aird on this well-deserved honor and thanks her for her continued leadership, service, and commitment to both the university and the McKenzie community.
