Lady Cats Drop Two Matches Saturday in Brescia Classic

OWENSBORO, Ky. - After winning their season opener Friday with a 3-2 comeback win over Webber International in the Brescia Classic, the Bethel Lady Wildcats remained in Owensboro playing two matches Saturday.

The Cats met Oakland City in an early afternoon match and fell to the Oaks 3-2. Oak City won 25-23, 25-19, 20-25, and 25-15.

Katie Pennington led Bethel with 15 kills and 10 digs. Kennedi Morrison had 10 kills. Sara Ulrich contributed with 17 digs. Clara Sestine led the Lady Cats with 24 digs. MacKenzie McCammon had 15 assists while Camila Sandoval followed with 13 assists.

The early evening match-up was against the host school Brecia.

Bethel took the first set 25-22 but lost the next three sets (18-25, 23-25, 22-25) to fall 3-1.

McCammon – 16 assists

Sandoval- 16 assists

Sestine- 17 digs

Brescia improved to 3-5 on the year while Bethel dropped to 1-2 on the season.
