Cats Beat Tigers in Men’s Soccer Road Matchup
GEORGETOWN. Ky. – The No. 18 Bethel Wildcats remained undefeated after beating the Georgetown Tigers 5-0 Friday night in the Commonwealth.
Gregory Cousins put the Wildcats ahead with a goal at the 29:41 mark.
Souleymane Balde put Bethel up 2-nil with a goal with just 23 seconds remaining in the first period.
Second period goals by Stanley Grand-Pierre, Balde and Cousins blew the game wide open. Cousins and Grand -Pierre had assists during the scoring flurry.
The Wildcats would take that margin and coast to the five-nil victory.
Bethel had a 17-9 margin in shots and an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal. Diego Camargo and Andrew Smith teamed up for three saves.
Bethel improved to 8-0-2 and 3-0-1 in the Mid-South Conference. The Tigers dropped to 2-8-1 and 0-5 in the league. It was the fifth straight loss for Georgetown.
The Wildcats remain on the road as they travel to No. 5 Lindsey Wilson on Tuesday. Action is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
LWC leads the series between the two programs with a 9-3-1 advantage.
